A FLORAL STUDIO WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH
Jeff and Nique were working independently and continued to run into each other at Wallitsch Gardens. They shared their joy of container design with each other and decided to work together.
The next natural step seemed to be to open a small shop, catering to indoor plants, and to share their love of plants with Louisville. That is why they created Petals.
Their dedication and love for plants comes through in both the shop and their work. Ina Garten was never a chef, but her passion for food and the excitement of a new adventure made her the Barefoot Contessa!
Now for the real dirt...
Jeff Wallitsch was born and raised in his family’s nursery, started by his grandparents in Louisville. His background is in Horticulture and Elementary Education. A lover of the Louisville food scene, Jeff also enjoys cooking all of Ina Garten's recipes for his blended family and has developed a loving tolerance for his business partner, Nique.
Nique Freese grew up in a family of gardeners, which oddly enough, she never enjoyed as a child. After getting a degree in accounting, she quickly discovered she preferred being outside surrounded by plants and color. Nique loves spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids, friends, her dogs.

Petals Louisville is looking for a reliable, friendly, and polished team member to join us as a Seasonal Retail Associate. While this position includes supporting daily retail operations in our boutique, part of the role will focus on delivering floral arrangements to our customers across the Louisville area. As the face of Petals, you’ll play a key role in creating warm, professional, and memorable experiences—whether behind the counter or at someone’s front door.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers in-store

Unpack, arrange, and label merchandise

Keep the sales floor tidy and well-stocked

Process purchases and returns via POS

Handle payments and receipts
-
Resolve customer issues with care and positivity

Deliver floral arrangements with attention to detail and punctuality

Communicate with team members to maintain a smooth delivery schedule

Represent the brand with professionalism and courtesy during all customer interactions
Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Must pass a background check

Confident, professional appearance and demeanor

Excellent communication and customer service skills

POS and basic retail tech knowledge

Able to lift, carry, and move items as needed

Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability
